Receiving Your Federal Benefits by Paper Check? The time is now!

Do you receive your federal benefits by receiving a check in the mail?  The U.S. Department of Treasury is reminding everyone that all federal benefits will be paid electronically by March 1, 2013.  This means, if you receive your benefits by paper check, you have less than a year to switch to an electronic payment method.

Choose from 3 easy ways to switch the payment of your federal benefits to Direct Deposit:

·         Visit any Branch Office of Peoples Neighborhood Bank and we will help you make the switch

·         Go to to make the switch

·         Call the U.S. Treasury Electronic Payment Solution Center at (800) 333-1795


Customers who do not switch to direct deposit will receive their payments via the Direct Express® Debit MasterCard® card so they will not experience any interruption in payment.
